What a morning...

At 5:30 this morning, the sirens from the army depot went off! I completely freaked out- ran downstairs (I think I actually jumped over all the steps) to grab our cell phone and shelter in place. I was SO stinkin' scared. JD kept telling me to 'calm down' but honestly, does that really help? I realized from this that we need a new battery for our radio...need to find the duct tape (not sure what happened to it)...and...

IT'S A GREAT DAY TO BE ALIVE!

Infant Loss and Remembrance

Memorial Day 2007
Monday, October 15th is infant loss and remembrance day:

Silence

Olivia lived her life within my womb.
Though brief, it was a rich, full of life and dance.
Each day I told her of my love in ways
Perhaps most intimate, my silent phrase
Heard in the heart directly, blood to blood.
The mention of my child's name
May bring tears to my eyes,
But it never fails to bring
Music to my ears.
Let me hear the beautiful music of her name.

It soothes my broken heart
And sings to my soul.
